Opening Shots…
So the opening was last night and we had a nice turn out. We were able to mingle with friends as well as get to meet some new people who were interested in talking with us about the project. A number of people have sat down at the Telepathy Station and made drawings already, and they are really quite wonderful so far. It will be interesting to see how many get done in the next month or so.
Anywho if you were able to make it last night thanks for stopping by, we appreciate you coming to see the work, and if you weren’t able to make the opening no worries, the show will be up until March 10!
Here are a couple of shots from the festivities!
Thanks to the Artists!
Hey I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of the collaborating artists that were able to donate their time and work to help Christina and I put together such a fun show, and incidentally one we are very proud of.
Thanks Gang!

Installing Some Telepathy in the Pinkard….
Ok so it has been a very busy day at the Pinkard Gallery. First of all I need to say thank you to Gerald Ross for agreeing to put up the show. We are very excited about it and we hope that you are pleased with your decision to give us this opportunity. Next I would like to say a big thank you to all of the Exhibitions folks that have helped with this, from Lou and Andrew and their work studies who helped place and hang the work, to Andrea, Carla, and Natalie who have helped with all of the paper work, labels etc! You folks are awesome to work with, and we are tickled with how it turned out, so thank you!
As for the show it has come together very nicely, Christina and I have a couple of small things that we need to address but for the most part it is ready to go. I took a few pics a long the way and here they are. We hope you enjoy the show and we get to see you at the opening.
Yay…

Ham and Cheese….
Ok so quick update…
We are going to be hanging the show tomorrow, whoop whoop, and there is a lot of interest in the show, which is very exciting and of course makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. The most recent article showed up in the Baltimore Sun, and it was titled “You think it, I draw it” by Tim Smith. It was really a lovely piece and again we would like to thank Mr. Smith, and Andrea at MICA for helping get this all going. We would also like to thank Gary Kachadourian for the great quotes! We also ended up on Southwest Airlines Blog, kind of cool…
Anyway the show goes up tomorrow as I said and the opening is Thursday 5 to 7 so if you get a chance to drop in we would love to see you there!

The Telepathy Drawings at Pinkard….
So we are getting excited about our upcoming show at MICA. We will be installing it next Monday and Tuesday and we have a good amount of work that will be included. Besides our drawings, we will be also exhibiting images made by artist colleagues and friends, as well as having a selected group of drawings exhibited from our collection made at previous exhibitions. In addition to the flat work, we will also have a Telepathy Station set up, so if you make it by the exhibition and want to add to the exhibit, well you will have the opportunity.
A quick reminder there will be an opening next Thursday the 28th from 5 to 7pm, so if you are around, we would love to see you there!
Oh, there has also been some interest from the Baltimore Sun and Urbanite magazine about the work, so keep an eye out for another perspective on the project. We have already been mentioned in one article written by Tim Smith from the Sun, it was a piece looking at a number of shows that are currently up at MICA. If you are interested in some more reading, take a look… and finally a big thank you Andrea and Jessica at MICA for producing and sending out the great press release for the show, all of this has come about because of your hard work!
Wisconsin Waiting….
So we made it to Seattle and we had a nice visit with the Ayala Clan. We have had some delicious food, I had a Classic Cassoulet at Betty’s, a local eatery in Queen Anne, it is similar in nature to the Woodbury Kitchen back home. We also went to the movies, seeing Avatar, (Titanic meets running with Wolves, meets The Lorax) and the New Sherlock Holmes. We were supposed to leave today to head to Athens, but because of the big snow storm in the Midwest we had to reschedule by one day. Because of that we are spending one extra day with Shaun and Stevie. Our flight tomorrow has a brief stop in Minneapolis, the epicenter of the “snowpacolypse” and that is the main reason we are postponing our travels by one day. So I got a shave at Oslo’s and we are about to go out and have a little more Seattle style fun before we head tomorrow to wonderful Athens!
If you are interested about some other exciting things to do in Seattle you should take a look at Seattle Detour, a wonderful site letting you know what there is to do here off the beaten path. So if you are planning a trip, check it out in making your preparations….
The Banana Republic is Pretty In Pink….
So I just had the work delivered to MC for the faculty show (a HUGE thank you to Megan for dropping them off on her way to teach, saved me a trip to “DC”) and I decided to show the Telepathy Drawings. I debated and was leaning towards showing illumenaeous rex and Dark Matters, but after discussing it with Christina, she swayed me into exhibiting work from our collaborative series.
On display you will see “Banana Republic” as well as “Pretty in Pink” I thought both were appropriate for a number of reasons, one because of it being pumpkins, fall, and all, the other for all of time we have spent at St. Micheals these last number of months, dreaming of pirates and adventures on the High Seas!
So if you are down in Silver Springs and want to drop by the Art Building at Montgomery College, please stop in and take a peek, and of course, I hope you enjoy the Work!
Thanks ~ John and Christina
Hurty Memories…
Well I just think this is really too funny, I hope if you haven’t had a chance to see this you enjoy. I am a big fan, but really?
Back in the Saddle…more or less…

Wandering around St. Micheals looking for a Cafe Mocha
So Christina and I are now officially back to the real world, and we are desperately trying to leave it again so over the next couple of days, weeks, etc we will be welcoming any stories or pictures that you may have from our wedding. We had a wonderful time and we can’t thank everyone enough for helping make it such a special day for us. We also hope that everyone had a fantastic time as well, and if you have anything you would like to share please feel free to send it our way. I will post things here and there so who knows.
In other news, I have a faculty show that I need to get ready for at the end of November down at MC and in January, Christina and I have our show at the Pinkard Gallery at MICA, because of this I have a good bit to do in getting ready for them, framing, text, etc. I also have some drawings to get from you out there, so make a note you maybe hearing from me soon…
