Birds of Paradise
So Christina and I have been taking to the air a good bit here recently and we will be continuing the trend over the next couple of weeks. Our main destination has been Texas to visit Christina’s folks in San Antonio, and Dallas will be an upcoming destination for a trip or two for Christina where she will be traveling for SWA business. In about two weeks we will be headed back to our old stomping grounds for some unfinished business that we have there, but more on that in an upcoming post. Needless to say we have had a busy first part of 2012.
Amongst all of this traveling I have been making some time to shoot. As I mentioned a few posts ago I have been wandering around the new city (when we have been here) and I have been exploring the parks. To date I am not really all that satisfied with the majority of images I have made, and the new camera is taking some getting used to, but we are working through it and once I get some winners I will be sure to get them posted.
I did however like this image that I recently took and I wanted to share it. I am kind of intrigued by images of birds so who knows maybe this will be the start of a new project. Doubtful but I am not going to rule anything out right now. Anyway thanks for taking some time drop by to see what is new with us. All is quiet on the south eastern front.
One of My Favorite New Corners on the Internet…
So I just wanted to share one of my favorite new spots on the internet… this work is pretty great… it is generally good for a smile and a heavy metal YES!!! So if you get a chance head on over and check out Matt Dooghin’s blog on Tumblr… if not you’ll wish you did…
Quick Shout…
Dear Baltimore Friends and Beyond,
(This is indeed the internet correct) I want to take a quick moment to draw your attention to two amazing artists that currently have work on view in our (well at least it used to be our) fair city, and the subsequent exhibitions you should definitely visit before they close.
The first of which is Lesser Gonzalez’s Make/Shift on view at Open Space, where it will remain up until March 10. The work is a hurricane of color and textures exploring the transitory nature of pop culture and the inevitable decline of cool. Additionally Gonzalez states that in his work he is “attempting to compare the the differences between first-world and third-world nations, especially the displacement of the working class as a result of a transition to more specialized professions.”
The show looks fantastic so if you get a chance I definitely would recommend popping (sorry I couldn’t help myself) in to check it out before this too must make way for the new.
If you don’t think you can make it to the show at least check out Lesser’s flickr page the show is pretty amazing… (more…)
