I find the idea of using Music as a non lethal form weapon both intriguing and disturbing. The power of music is undeniable in its ability to affect mood, this having been demonstrated again and again in every movie that Hollywood produces but to incorporate it and the specificness of the songs selected to wear down militants in hopes of aiding information gathering for the war on terror is stunning. Here is a link to the UK’s Guardian for a more in depth article, and here a list of the songs reported to have been used.

Another interesting article considering how cultural artifacts can be positioned to shape and marginalize abuse is Susan Sontag’s Regarding the Torture of Others. It is a powerful piece looking at how words and images positioned in a specific and particular context can transform dehumanizing cruelty into the equivalent of simple childish mischief.

Here is a review of our show The Telepathy Drawings that was written in the Baltimore Sun. The show was at the Pinkard Gallery at MICA in Baltimore Maryland. The show was also listed as a critics pick in the Baltimore City Paper and got a small mention in Baltimore’s Urbanite Magazine.
